It’s going to be 80 degrees here tomorrow and it’s definitely strapless season. Be sure you have the right foundation under your strapless dress or top. Our strapless slips and camis even come with detachable straps that can be used in various configurations to fit any neckline.
Both items are available in both pale and black. And, they are designed to be worn brafree — no need to wear a bra and you’ll still have a super supportive undergarment.
Get out there and enjoy the summer knowing you look great.

Check out what showed up in the April issue of Oprah Magazine! Super fun to see the Ruby Ribbon Sheer High Waist Brief featured. This sexy and modern look provides control that shapes and smoothes your midriff, tummy, waist, & hips. The waistband sits under your bra, and hidden elastic prevents roll-down.
Wear it under your favorite dress for a smooth look.

I had the opportunity last night to attend the Embrace documentary, a social impact documentary that explores the issue of body image. It’s an easy watch, has a great message and is empowering as you think more about it.
If you get a chance to go, I’d recommend it. It plays worldwide and you can even help bring it to your city, much like my friend that took the steps to get it to Fargo.
Here are the key messages in the film.
We say no to…
- Society and advertisers preying on women’s insecurities
- Excessive Photoshopping of body images in the media
- Being programmed into accepting unrealistic body images
- The notion that being a certain weight determines whether you’re healthy
- Women being treated as sexual objects and the objectification of women
And we say yes to…
- Body diversity and reveling in the beauty of the human form
- Celebrating the journey our bodies have been on
- Growing old, and acknowledging the privilege to do so
- Focusing on things that are important, rather than comparing ourselves to others
- Being healthy at every weight
As I drove home, and even as a I reread these key messages, I challenged myself to think about if my work with Ruby Ribbon means I’m living these messages. I think it does. Ruby Ribbon is all about celebrating confidence, and this is a key message of the film — love your body no matter how it looks. Ruby Ribbon also helps you find the clothes that look best on your body without sacrificing comfort. I love it when I see a new customer light up when she sees how her body looks in a cami or a new flattering item.

Thanks to Yvonne Denault Photography, people in the Fargo area can attend a screening of Embrace, a documentary created to explore the way we think about our bodies as women and how to change the negativity we associate with not fitting “the mold”.
The screening will be Monday, Jan 30, at 7:30 PM at Marcus West Acres 14 Cinema. You do need to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are $11
When Body Image Activist Taryn Brumfitt posted an unconventional before-and-after photo in 2013 it was seen by more than 100 million people worldwide and sparked an international media frenzy. EMBRACE follows Taryn’s crusade as she explores the global issue of body loathing, inspiring us to change the way we feel about ourselves and think about our bodies.

You’ve probably seen our Ruby Ribbon tagline, at least I hope you have. It’s “Celebrating Confidence, Inside and Out”.
So, what does confidence mean. I looked it up and here’s the definition — “a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities”.
In order to become more confident, you need to get to know yourself and what you are really good at. What comes naturally to you? What do other people say that you are good at? We are naturally programmed to put ourselves down, and we usually have no problem being able to call to mind the things we are not so good at.
Let’s try to change that with try this exercise: Make a list of what you are good at and post it where you can see it. Thinking about what you are naturally good at isn’t conceited. It can be a call to gratitude for your unique combination of talents and abilities! Then, verbally affirm your list each day and feel your confidence grow!
Here’s some things you might put on your list
- I am a good listener.
- I am a hard worker.
- I love to learn new things.
- I have common sense.
- I am organized.
- I love my family.
- I am a good cook.
- I am disciplined.
- I am a loyal friend.
- I am a good mom.
- I love to help people.
To get you started, I’m including my own completed checklist. I’ll print it and put in a prominent place in my vehicle so I can review it each day on my commute to work.
I challenge you to do this exercise. I had fun coming up with what I wanted to include. Just print out this page, jot down your own great traits, then snap a pic with your cell phone. And, I challenge you to post your list in the comments; I even bet you’ll get some positive praise and support from others.
